
This file folder games is designed to help students learn all of the addition facts with a sum of eight. It can be played individually or as a two player game. The game comes with number cards, the game board, a recording sheet, directions, and a game label.
One player directions
1. Make two piles of cards. A black pile and a white pile.
2. Draw a card from the black pile.
3. Use counters or the number line to find how many more you need to make eight.
4. Find the number you need in the white deck and record your answer.
5. Discard both cards and continue playing until all of the cards are gone.
Two player directions
1. Rock paper scissors. The winner chooses their color of numbers. (black or white)
2. The second player goes first drawing a card.
3. The first player will then use counters to find how many more you need to make eight.
4. The first player then finds the card in their deck and places it on the board and the second player check the answer using the number line. Both players record the answer.
5. Discard both cards and continue playing taking turns until all of the cards are gone.
